Summer is simply fabulous...especially when you live in an urban setting. Even better is spending a day at the beach; getting sand in your food, enjoying the smell of salt and sunscreen, and riding the waves of the Pacific. Yet the Midwest has its summer perks, too :) Picking fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries; sucking on juicy popsicles; wearing shorts, flip flops, and sunglasses; catching tadpoles (and frogs!) with your 4 year old cousin; and simply slowing down are some of the great gifts of summer after a strenuous year of school. Taking shelter from the scorching rays of the sun by jumping headlong into our new clean pond is definitely a plus to living in the country as well.
The beautiful smells, tastes, and sights of summer are priceless
